The following scripture was written over 2000 years ago by Peter to Christians, who were going through worse persecutions than we have ever seen and I pray we never have to live through.
Yet, if we do, will you lay all your worries and anxieties at the feet of Jesus?
1 Peter 5:7-11
"Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares for you.
Stay alert! Watch out! Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone he can devour.
Stand firm in your faith against him, knowing your brothers and sisters all over the world are going through the same kind of suffering as you.
After you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace. who has called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself restore, confirm, strengthen and establish you.
To Him be the dominion/power for ever and ever. Amen."
Are you anxious now because of an election or other things in your life? If so, give all that worry to God.
When you worry over "things", it only causes them to grow and become worse in your mind than they are.
Are you standing firm in your faith now against the devil? If not, he is so happy to have hold of you.
Living the life of a Christian will have suffering and persecution - do you stand firm or do you feel like it isn't fair?
Do you whine and complain if things don't go your way?
Remember the persecution of the early Christians.
Remember the persecution and suffering of Jesus - and we have the audacity to whine, complain and worry?
I invite you to be an example to others by standing firm, by showing your faith instead of fear.
Verse 10 and 11 tell me I/we have nothing to fear.
Hand it all over to God - He's the only one who can take care of whatever it is you are anxious and concerned about.
Sometimes we need a little help taking action in the right direction regarding our anxieties and fears. I've been there. I can help you take those steps through personal coaching. Click the link below to get started with your first session.
