Time

Your body is fearfully and wonderfully made, crafted by the Master Creator to carry you through this journey on earth. 

As a Whole Woman of God, I believe it's important to take an inventory of ourselves and discover where we can grow and be more who God intended us to be.


As I write this email, it’s almost Mid-March and I find myself asking, “how did we get to March so fast?”


I remember seeing posts on Facebook with people complaining about the cold and wishing for spring, and here it is almost here.


You know, time moves on. You can't save it; you can't invest in it; you can't have more of it.


It’s something that isn’t easy to explain, and if we’re honest, it’s not easy to measure.


Yet, every day we find ourselves setting alarms for reminders.

I’ll set a 10-minute reminder for my tea.

I’ll set a timer to check the washer to put the clothes in the dryer and then one to get the clothes out (we haven’t figured out how to get it buzz – it just stops and has a soft beep ☺)


And even though we know we don’t get more of it; many people are living their lives as though they have all the time in the world and will never die.

 

This reality check brings me to something I've been contemplating lately: the importance of caring for our bodies. 


Not just for vanity's sake, but as an act of stewardship for the precious temple God has entrusted to each of us.


What would happen if you decided to take time to care for your physical body?


Doing so can allow you to live a longer, healthier life with a vibrant mind and a body that is capable of fulfilling your purpose. 


When you neglect your health, you can often find yourself unable to serve in the ways you were called to, limited by preventable conditions or early fatigue.


As a health and wellness coach, I’ve learned that there is more to caring for your body than just picking a diet and hoping you have the willpower to stick to it.


I’ve been working with another coach and together we are digging more into the mindset surrounding food and habits and thoughts about eating. 



To help you now, here are five ways you can honor God by caring for your amazing body He created in His image:

  1. Practice intentional movement: Find ways to move your body that bring you joy, not punishment. Walking in nature, dancing around the house, or playing with your children all celebrate the gift of mobility while strengthening the body God designed.
  2. Nourish wisely: Consider food as fuel for kingdom work. Choose options that provide lasting energy rather than quick fixes that leave you depleted. Remember that caring about what you eat isn't vanity—it's good stewardship.
  3. Embrace true rest: Quality sleep and moments of stillness aren't luxuries—they're required for renewal. Jesus himself withdrew to rest; shouldn't we follow His example?
  4. Manage stress through prayer: When anxiety rises, take it to the Lord before it manifests into physical symptoms. A peaceful heart contributes to a healthy body, and casting your cares on Him is both spiritually and physically restorative.
  5. Cultivate joy and gratitude: A merry heart does good like medicine! Find reasons to laugh, give thanks, and celebrate the gift of life. Gratitude transforms our perspective on health from burden to blessing.


Your body is fearfully and wonderfully made, crafted by the Master Creator to carry you through this journey on earth. 

By treating your Masterpiece with reverence and care, you honor the One who knit you together and you show your gratitude for His handiwork.


I invite you to use your time wisely by investing in habits that strengthen your vessel, allowing you to serve with vigor and joy for as many days as you are given.

Progress isn't always a straight line

I decided to treat the dirty window as one of my daily tasks. I wrote in my planner on a specific day and time when I would clean that window! I’m grinning as I write this thinking, "I scheduled a time to clean the window?"; yet that’s how I knew I would get it done.
