Do you pray and ask God to open your eyes to Satan's hiding places? I can't say that I've ever prayed that prayer; however, I will now.
As Christians, I believe we see Satan more than others. We might think we know his hiding places.
We might believe he will never jump out and surprise us. But, he does!!
We must remember he is a snake. He is slithering along and just waiting to bite and spread his venom. When bitten by a normal snake, we feel it. When bitten by the snake Satan, we most times don't even realize the venom is going through our bodies. It might be a day, a week or years before we realize what has happened.
This is why we must be on guard - we can't afford to get comfortable
We must protect ourselves and the only way, is to put on the whole armor of God.
Ephesians 6:10-20
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.
11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.
12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.
14 Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
15 and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace.
16 In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one;
17 and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God,
18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,
19 and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel,
20 for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.
This is our only defense. Paul is writing this to Christians. People who believe Jesus is the Christ and have had their sins washed away through baptism. The blood of Christ saves us.
The devil is going to be doing everything he can to find our weak spot. He's going to know if we aren't covered in the armor of God. He appears to be getting sneakier and sneakier.
However, he is just as evil now as he was in the Garden of Eden when Eve chose sin over God. He knows what he is doing - he chips away a little at a time and then with one last tap, he can make things come crumbling down.
Visualize a foundation with a crack. It's OK, it's only a crack. And, over time the crack gets bigger; yet, we don't see it until it's too late and the house falls down because we didn't think the crack mattered.I can hear myself asking, "when did the crack get so big? The last time I looked, it was just a small crack." This is how Satan works! He is subtle!
I am making a commitment to pay attention to the cracks in my life. Will you join me? And, I'm praying for God to open my eyes to those cracks.
Even though we know the devil lost his battle the day Jesus died on the cross, he is still fighting.
He wants all humanity to lose with him and that's why he does the evil he does, using humans to do the dirty work.
He can't stand it that he's already lost, so, he's going to take as many with him on the losing side as he possibly can.
I'm on the winning side and I'm committed to bringing others to Christ so they can be on the winning side.
Please pray for me as I stand against the devil, as I will pray for you. The devil is seeking those he can devour. He hates anyone who loves God & Jesus.
Satan is subtle and he is powerful; however, he is weak compared to our AWESOME God.
If you don't have your armor on, please, get it on now. It's your only defense against the evil one.
